Sanitation facilities for Vanjivakkam village

First of all, thanks for taking look at our fund request page. We understand your time is valuable, so we will make it short to explain the problem and proposal and let you decide on the donation.

Issue: Vanjivakkam village has population of 576 families and is located in Thiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu. This village had NO toilet or bath-room facilities. When human waste is not managed well, it pollutes water, food, and soil with germs, and leads to diarrhea and other serious health problems.  Not only this is major health issue but also a safety issue especially for women and children living in this village.

Solution: Build toilets and prevents germs from getting into the environment, and protects the health of the whole community.

Great news: With the help of Government scheme (*IHHL SBM(G)) and additional donations, able to complete the construction of 333 toilets. Thanks to Ashok Priyadarshan and team of volunteers to make it happen.

Help needed: The cost to construct  toilet + bathroom is 17,000 INR. Government provides 12,000 INR. Additional 5000 need to be raised thru donations to support. So to construct the remaining 243 toilet+bathrooms, we need 12,15,000 INR ($17,357 USD) in addition to the Government support. Together we can support and complete the mission.

Execution plan: IndiaTEAM volunteers will raise the fund towards TGF (TEAM Global Fund). All of the money raised thru this effort will be used for this purpose. All the efforts will be coordinated thru Ashok Priyadarshan and report will be submitted back to IndiaTEAM at the end of the project completion. 

Finally, Vanjivakkam will have Sanitation facilities which not only is critical for the health and safety, but also provide privacy, safety, comfort, cleanliness & most importantly respect that everyone deserve to have.
