We have successfully kicked off our 2009 training season for Half marathon on 21st Mar 2009 at early morning ~7:15 AM (as planned). The morning weather was excellent with temperature around 55 and no wind at all. The best part is everyone showed up very close to the start time. We will look forward to the on time start every week to respect everyone’s valuable time.
This year we are going to monitor the weight’s of each one before, during and after the run !. Everyone weighed-in during this kickoff. We will continue to do this every four weeks.
Pictures worth more than thousands of words: instead of I describing the moments in words, I will let you directly see the moments captured during the kickoff season at https://plus.google.com/photos/116280833211166679333/albums/5316220835890416785?banner=pwa Don’t miss out the two video clips in there. Have fun !.
Thank you everyone for participating in this great event. We are on our way to “Lose Weight, Get Fit, Reduce Stress, Develop a new skill, Help Others and more”.
Looking forward to see all our runners in the forth coming weeks.

The best way to predict the future is to create it

The list goes like this….
1. Spend more time with the Family
2. Lose weight
3. Get Fit
4. Get organized
5. Develop a new skill or talent
6. Enjoy Life More
7. Work less, play more
8. Reduce Stress Overall
9. Break an unhealthy habit (e.g., smoking, alcohol, overeating)
10. Help others
You might be wondering, what is this list for ?.
These are the top ten new year resolution list based on a survey (google search). In all the searches, the top two items are,
Lose Weight and get Fit.
Let us face some facts here. The survey found that 35% of respondents break their New Year’s resolutions by the end of January and 37% keep it little longer (not long enough). The truth is “only 23% of those surveyed don’t ever break them”.
Why is that so many people couldn’t keep up their resolution. Once again I did the google search and found these. Here are reasons for failure to keep up their resolution:
Not Having A Support Group
Keeping Your Resolutions To Yourself
Not Personalizing Your Resolutions – Understand “why” ?.
Not Writing Them Down
You Can’t See Your Resolutions Everyday
Not Reviewing Your Resolutions Periodically
Ok…what now ?.
If you are thinking about
… “Lose Weight, Get Fit, Reduce Stress, Develope a new skill, and Help Others”, TEAMrun can help you. All the “reasons for failure” are covered by the TEAMRun. All of the above goals can be achieved with one simple goal/new year resolution, i.e. “I want to run and be healthy.
Just say it. It’s that simple. TEAMRun will make that happen for you. If you like to learn more about it join us by sending mail to info@indiateam.org
Looking forward to help you get fit, healthier and happier.

Cross: For cross training, choose any activity other than running. You could do swimming, cycling, walking/hiking. Don’t make the mistake of cross-training too vigorously. Cross-training days should be considered easy days that allow you to recover from the running you do the rest of the week
Strength: Mondays are the days following your long run on the weekends, so don’t overdo it. Strength training could consist of push-ups, pull-ups, use of free weights or working out with various machines at a fitness center. Runners generally benefit if they combine light weights with a high number of repetitions, rather than using heavy weights

When we started our training session we had about 15 runners. But we ended up having 30+ runners completing Half Marathon. 2009 was a very successful year for TEAM Run. We did it.
