Dear TEAM,

Following the success of sixth meeting of TEAM, the Seventh TEAM meeting held on 20th October 2001 turned to a great successul one.

On the pleasant evening,compered by Uma the meeting started at 6.30 PM with the prayer song by Amlu. It was followed by welcome speech by Anbu Gounder. He welcomed the gathering and introduced Sutha SivaSubramanian (Regular Host, FM 90.1, Mostly Tamil Programme) special guest of the day to the TEAM.

There was a wonderful video presentation of TEAM projects in India. Interviews with school headmasters and people from the villages proved that TEAM’s goal has reached the right destination. Many thanks to the team of members who worked on this video presentation.

Ravikumar presented the TEAM activities. The chart listed with highlights of TEAM activities was distributed to all.

Radhakrishnan delivered a speech about ‘Social Activities & Services’. He said that every individual has a basic helping tendency, which is getting chanalized thru TEAM. Our money reaches to the right people and all our efforts in this should be appreciated.

Chief guest Sutha SivaSubramanian – Mostly Tamil host – delivered a nice speech. He insisted that even though we are away from our home, we want to build some good things back for our home and TEAM’s effort in this should be appreciated. He brought up the concept of Navarathri, where the 9 days were dedicated equally to courage, wealth and education. “At the end of these 9 days do we have the courage to help others for education?” – was the message put forth by him.

Karthikeyan delivered vote of thanks. He said that TEAM is a place for accumulating knowledge and it is the only opportunity where happiness is achieved by giving something to others instead of getting something back.

Vote of thanks was followed by POTLUCK dinner. Thanks to all the members who prepared nice varieties of dinner.

Last but not the least was the super hit singing program of TEAM members. TEAM enjoyed varieties of songs. Thanks to Haja Peer, Amlu, Ashok Mangalore, Sudha, Senthil Palaniyappan, Sridhar and all the members who participated in this, special thanks to Haja Peer for compering this event.

Team meet – July 28, 2001

Dear team

On a sunny afternoon, it was really enchanting to gather at the Elizabeth park, Fremont CA for a noble cause – the sixth meeting of TEAM, Saturday, July 28 2001.

Meeting commenced at around 12.30 PM with approximately 100 people.The compeer Mahalakshmi started the meeting, followed by Mr.Rajasekar welcoming the gathering and introducing the guest of honor Dr.Ayee.

It was followed by TEAM magazine release, with Bala Nachimuthu handing over the first copy to Thamarai Selvan. Magazine has been scripted in Tamil in its entirety and kudos to Thamarai Selvan for he had keyed-in every word of the magazine.

“Share your thoughts and creative ideas”-was what Mr.Thamarai selvan emphasized in his speech. He insisted on taking TEAM to everyone who deserves benefits from TEAM.

Mr.Palanisamy who executed the Pethambalayam project at the school site shared his experience. He briefed out the flow in the project execution with special mention about the people who on their own will, worked for the project expecting nothing. It is to his credit that the project was successfully implemented bringing about smiles to every student’s face..

Radhakrishnan gave the memento of the sixth meeting to Dr.Ayee.

It was then over to Dr.Ayee -the guest of honour. He appreciated TEAM for embarking upon a noble objective and wished TEAM for its growth. He said “Every big thing starts small” and that impact of TEAM in schools is remarkable, creating a sparkle in students’ eyes. He talked about success as achieving without losing identity as it is important to enjoy success. He continued about integrating into society and the need for perfect infrastructure and system to operate successfully.

Pravin Balasubramaniam followed with his school selection event. Kids drew from the lots and following is the list of schools ..

It is worth mentioning and the proud of TEAM that the last school in the list is gonna be the 50th project of TEAM.

Karthikeyan Easwaramoorthy thanked everyone at the gathering, volunteers, speakers and the whole of TEAM. He also elucidated the difference between knowledge and experience and so too between reality and theoretical facts. He added that TEAM is an experience and working for it means becoming the part of society..

It was 1400hrs when team went busy with POTLUCK lunch. What enthralled the gathering were the games conducted by Aby Jayaprakash & Co..kids & other members caught the crowd entertaining with their singing and acting skills..

As part of TEAM, contibutions are made expecting nothing in return, but its TEAM nature to thank and appreciate.

So much thanks are due to Kandasamy, karthikeyan Easwaramoorthy, Ravikumar, UdayaBaskar, SR karthikeyan,Sudhakar & Vijay for reserving the parks grounds so early by 5am.

TEAM thanks Latha Kandasamy & Co -includes Latha, tamizh, jayanthi,Chitrabanu and Ravi for organizing the potluck and arrangements done. Also sincere thanks extends to the contributors to potluck with variety of dishes.

TEAM expresses deep gratitude to Audio setup team,includes UdayaBaskar, Kandasamy, Ramanan and Radhakrishnan for making the meet sound success.

For catching TEAM meeting on video and camera its Haja Peer, heartfelt thanks, for these visuals speak for the history of TEAM.

TEAM meet – April 21, 2001

Hello Everyone,

The fifth Quarterly TEAM meeting held on the 21st April 2001 went on in a more formal presentation than the usual as requested by the members. The meeting stared exactly at 6.00 P.M and was compeered by Hemalatha.

Karthikeyan Easwaramoorthy delivered the welcome address adding a brief introduction about the TEAM.

The project status report was updated by Senthil Subramaniam there by explaining the details about the number of projects that are completed. Till date 20 projects have been completed. Project in six other schools are in progress.

During the course of this meeting the members who have executed the school projects were given an opportunity to share their experience about the Developments made in their respected schools. Ramki Natesan,Murugeshan Mohan,Karuppusamy, Sugeerthi Loganathan,Karthekeyan Ramasamy and Thamarai Selvan added their reports about their completed projects.

The meeting went on with Pravin Balasubramaniam giving the details about the website development and thanking Kannan for his assistance in the web page development.

VimalaMoorthy presented the financial status report explaining the expenditure details.

The rent for the clubhouse paid by the contributions of the members present in the meeting.

Karthikeyan provided the necessary feedback by answering the questions and doubts from various other members. He added that he is ready to clear any other doubts and asked the TEAM members it contact him through his email address.

Following the feedback was the school selection. The schools were selected by Lot system as usual the kids were more than ready to pick the lots.

Around 7.15 P.M Dinner was served. Thanks to Latha Kandasamy for preparing the menu and organizing the food items therefore the food was enough to everyone present in the meeting.

As the meeting was planned before in an organized fashion there was enough time to conduct the Arattai Arangam. Dr. Krishnamoorthy judged the program.

The topic selected being Vazhivil sirantha / Sonthosamana days – Bachelor or family life.

Each participant was given 15 min to talk. They were given the option of speaking 15 minutes at a time or splitting the time in two intervals as per their convenience.

Udhaya Baskar was given the opportunity to give a introduction to the topic. He then continued to speak in the favor of bachelor life.

Thamarai Selvan who?s shared his views that only married life is more enjoyable succeeded him.

Karthikeyan Easwaramoorthy Spoke for both sides and later concluded his views that family life is more joyous than bachelor life. Later the participants were given another chance to stress their points.

In the end Dr. K.K. Krishanamoorthy passed the judgment as the family life to be the sirantha Sonthosamana Days.

Concluding his speech, Mr. K.K. Krishnamoorthy appreciated the efforts taken my TEAM members providing education for the Poor. He further gave his support by coming forward to donate some books for these schools in the future if needed. Dr. K.K. Krishnamoorthy was an instant hit with the Crowd. The members clearly enjoyed having been able to hear his thoughts and justify his vies. Hoping to hear more from such experienced senior persons in the future meeting.

The meeting was over by 10.15 P.M. In a nutshell the TEAM meeting was conducted in an organized manner that enabled us to go through all the business at hand within the time schedule.

TEAM meet – Jan 06, 2001


Vineyard Club House, Fremont, CA

Hello Everyone,

Its been more than 10 months since TEAM was formed and it was our 4th quarterly meet. It was held on Jan 6th 2001 @ Vineyard Club House, Fremont, CA. This was the first meet for our 2nd batch – 2001 batch members and everyone was excited to be there and it was attended by more than 150 people.

Though we were planning to start at 6:00pm, as proud Indians do, we finally were able to start between 6:30~6:45pm. Karthi Eswaramoorthy started out the meeting, briefed about the TEAM history, philosophy, what we believe as TEAM and activities of the TEAM. At end of his brief, we went to School Selection Program by lot. We selected 8 members who will be executing the projects on behalf of the TEAM for the next 3 months ( under usual circumstances we would have selected 12 schools, since we had to cover the TEAM incorporated expenses, it was decided to help only 8 schools for this period). Thanks to Vimala Murthy for collecting the checks from co-ordinators.

Then it was time for Kids Dance program which was suggested by Kandy Nachimuthu and arranged by Sumathi Ramki. It was very lovely and entertaining to see all the kids dancing, audience were so impressed with their performance. Special thanks to Sumathi for marking this program very enjoyable. By the time dance program was completed it was almost 8:45 pm, everyone was so hungry, then there was the huge buffet ever made in the bay area ( pot luck from the fellow members ).

Since we ran out of time, we had to cancel the arattai arangam and couldn’t thank the individuals who were helping out to make this TEAM meet a memorable one ! So here goes the list:
